Hatha Yoga & Meditation

Join us this Sunday 3/15 for a practice centered around our hearts’ inner illumination, the light that is beyond all sorrow. First we’ll discuss Sutra 1:36 from the Yoga Sutras. We’ll follow it up with a physical practice (asana), yogic breathing (pranayama), a guided meditation, and mantra practice. The idea will be to open to the inspiration, joy, and illumination at our heart center by clearing away obstacles through practice. Class will leave you feeling motivated, peaceful, and yet inspired!

“The experience of sorrowless joy arising from meditation infuses our mind with the understanding that the world within us is much more predictable and reliable than the external world. Our inner reality is ever present and unaffected by the changing conditions of the external world- there is an extraordinary feeling of protection and safety. We are clear about who we are and have no interest in knowing what we are not. This state is self-luminous, and sorrowless joy is intrinsic to it. Meditation on the lotus of the heart leads us to this state.” - Pandit Rajmani Tigunait except from ‘The Secret of the Yoga Sutra’
